Idea Created: October 8, 2010

Overview:

Half of all Canadian women have experienced at least one incident of violence since the age of 16.

One in three Canadian women is a victim of assault by a spouse or partner.

In Canada, almost 75 women are murdered by their partner each year.

98% of sex offenders are men and 82% of the survivors of these assaults are girls and women.

Men are ultimately the ones who can stop violence against women. Help us launch the biggest campaign in Canadian history to get men to own their role to end violence against women. Through social media, volunteer engagement, workshops and high profile cultural events we will engage a national movement of men to end violence and discrimination against girls and women. We will showcase positive male role models like Byron Hurt, Jackson Katz, Troy Westwood and a host of activist artists to urge today’s boys and men become tomorrow’s community leaders.

We are committed to the belief that people everywhere need to Take the Pledge to end violence against girls and women. The Violence Must Stop Here!
