First, Canadians will vote on the ideas entered in the Aviva Community Fund competition. Then, our panel of experienced judges will rank the 25 most popular ideas based on specific criteria to determine which ideas will be funded.
How do ideas get selected as finalists?
Everyone registered with the Aviva Community Fund site can vote for their favourite ideas during the Idea Entry and Semi-Final phases of the competition. These votes will determine which ideas will become finalists in the Aviva Community Fund competition and move on to the Judging phase.
The 25 most popular semi-finalist ideas will move on to the Judging phase. Our panel of impartial judges will review all of the finalist ideas and rank them to determine which ideas will get funded.
How will ideas be evaluated?
The Judging panel will evaluate the 25 finalist ideas based on these criteria:

When does judging take place?
The Judging phase will be held from December 17th through January 25th when our panel of judges will rank the 25 finalist ideas in order from 1 - 25 and divide them into groups of Small, Medium, and Big Ideas. The final selection will take place at the Aviva headquarters in Toronto, and the winners will be contacted by email.
Who is on the Judging panel?
The Judging panel is a diverse group of impartial judges, carefully selected by the Aviva Community Fund. The process of calculating appropriate budgets for each project ranked in the 25 finalists will be assisted by a community funding specialist contracted by Aviva who is highly experienced in dealing with non-profit, charity and other community organizations.
