How the Competition Works
Create an idea that will have a positive impact in your community. Enter it in the Aviva Community Fund competition and get your friends, family and everyone you know to vote for it. The most popular ideas will have a chance to be funded with the $500,000 Aviva Community Fund.

Competition Timeline
Ideas will compete for a spot in the Semi-Finals over 3 rounds taking place between October 13th and November 29th. During these rounds, Canadians will vote to select the semi-finalists. The most popular ideas from these 3 rounds will compete in a Semi-Final round run between December 2nd and December 16th. Then, the top ideas, as selected by you and vetted through our judges, will receive funding through the Aviva Community Fund. Winners will be announced on January 25th, 2010. The opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on your community is very close to becoming a reality!

Competition Rules
We're looking for ideas that will address a specific need in your community and have a positive impact. We've designed an easy and open process for you to submit an idea, however there are certain aspects we'll consider when deciding if an idea qualifies for the Aviva Community Fund competition.

Supporting Ideas
Anyone registered on the Aviva Community Fund website can show their support and help determine the outcome of the Aviva Community Fund competition by voting for their favourite ideas. We're leaving the selection of semi-finalists up to you, Canada - you can show your support for as many different ideas as you'd like, and you have a chance to show you care each day.

Selecting Winners
The top 25 most popular semi-finalist ideas will move on to a Judging phase. Our panel of impartial judges will review all of the finalist ideas to better assess their feasibility and costs and rank them to determine which ideas will get funded.

Competition Judges
The Aviva Community Fund has hand picked a panel of judges to evaluate the competition finalists and select the winners. Each of our judges brings a different perspective to the final evaluation process and will help ensure the best ideas receive the funding they deserve.

Funding Ideas
The Aviva Community Fund will fund at least one small sized idea (<$10,000), one medium sized idea ($10,000 - $50,000), and one big idea ($50,000 - $250,000). After those ideas have been funded, we'll fund additional ideas until the money is gone.
