Stairway to Reading

Stairway to Reading is a free online remedial resource that parents and teachers can download to tutor their children and students. There are 40 easy to follow lessons that are based on researched, proven methods of systematic phonics. There are fun games and easy to read stories that help struggling readers, young and old, become fluent readers and better students.

The money would be used to sustain the website and provide ongoing support and training for parents and teachers both online and by live telephone support.

For parents or local schools that would like hands-on kits for Stairway to Reading we would like to provide some printed materials of the teacher's lesson manual, student's booklet, and game cards and other materials. We would use some funds to print these materials and distribute them free to families and schools.

  It's so important that our children learn to read, and because schools across North America are failing children we have to supply help for them, like 'Stairway to Reading'. With proper instruction, every child can learn, and a large number of so-called learning disabilities magically disappear.

  Society For Quality Education has been one of the forerunners for years in promoting what it takes for our children to learn and READ. They're right on the mark research-wise regarding phonics and that they are offering such an effective and greatly needed system for FREE needs to be supported. It can benefit so many!

  This site is amazing. My 4 year old grandson uses the site all of the time and can now do it by himself. He actually started when he was 3. He is learning to read while at the same time he is enjoying the site.

  SQE Stairway to heaven is an excellent home resource. I wish I had know about this resource when my daughter was in the primary grades. I would have taken the resourse to the school, who lack resources and materials for children who struggle in reading.

  I have used Stairway to Reading with a struggling reader in Grade 4. The program did wonders to build his confidence and identify some of the issues contributing to his reading challenges. The games were fun and the learning was transferable to other books he began to read. We liked the online support (practice) as well. However, what is really powerful and almost unbelievable is the FREE support and suggestions I received from the knowledgeable and commited people at the Society for Quality Education. A very worthwhile idea to support!
