Overview:Fredericton’s newest private learning centre providing remedial intervention to students with various learning disabilities. The purpose of this school is to be able to accommodate the needs of students academically, emotionally and socially. Curriculum offered will be tailored to the specific needs of individual students using Multisensory Orton-Gillingham based program for reading, writing and math. Other specialized programs will enhance the learning with social skills and team building components to enrich students in all capacities of daily life.
A focus for Easthope will be to work with community members and local organizations to provide instructions to students in their creative processes to encourage growth and development in life skills, self-help skills and social skills. The opportunity for our students to experience different trades and participate in activities that otherwise they would not be afforded is what makes Easthope a unique school for unique individuals.
We will facilitate a transitional learning environment to build a strong foundation of skills that prepares students to enter/ re-enter mainstream education.
Early intervention is the key to success for all future students. We will offer a specialized Pre- Kindergarten/Kindergarten Multisensory Learning Program. Our program will be exclusive to Easthope students with our own curriculum developed specifically for students based on the developmental needs, creativity and uniqueness of students. Program materials will include a multisensory approach to learning with many hands on activities including IT/technology and social skills training components. This is a transitional program three mornings a week for children entering the school system the following year. Our program is to ensure little ones are learning and thriving in a fun creative environment while learning pre-reading skills and preparing for the classroom environment.
