Overview:

As a teacher, I have learned that simple ideas often work the best. I have also witnessed how an increase in self-esteem solves many of the issues facing our youth today.  This idea puts youth in leadership roles, leading other youths.  All hobbies, sports and interests can be included. For example,  young people who excel at basketball will organize all aspects of a free community basketball tourney.  Not just the day of the tournament, but all aspects of the organizing.  Perhaps, jewellery makers will organize a sale or weekend show, making and selling their creations. 
The main point is that the youths are the leaders, using their creative ideas and learning leadership and organizational skills in the real world.  Young people have enough time listening to adults and following our rules and ideas, in school and at home.  We can learn a lot from our youth and I believe the results would be amazing for all of us to give the responsibilities to the youth.  Self-esteem would sky-rocket, just watch the results!
