Our Vision WEBSITE: www.tantramarfamily.ca The Tantramar Family Resource Centre will work towards developing Sackville as a safe, secure and healthy community where all citizens have access to social services, where their most basic needs are always met, and where reasonable quality of life is assured.

Our Mission The FRC Board works to establish a physical, sustainable Resource Centre with a professional qualified staff to offer programming which responds to the needs of citizens, families and communities in the Tantramar region.

Our Principles Equal Access Family Involvement Universality while serving the vulnerable Inclusion Enhance education, literacy, social development Support nutrition, wellness and healthy living Practical & creative responses to Tantramar community needs Evolve community-based programs enabled through partnerships, & networking Our Goals Formally establish the FRC in the community with a physical location. Support Early Learning and Child Care Hub, providing services for children ages 0–6. Support existing Literacy Programs to be delivered through or in partnership with FRC. To enhance parenting skills in the region by providing support through appropriate programs and services. To improve the health of our citizens by providing education on nutrition and physical activity to individuals and families in the region using innovative and interesting programs. To promote prenatal education and wellness among pregnant women and expecting families. To develop innovative and interesting extra-curricular programs for our youth, ages 10–18. Our Organization The TFRC is a newly incorporated non-profit body. The TFRC has charitable status and can issue tax receipts. The Board of Directors has responsibilities in each of the goal areas identified above. Each director has established a committee for specific goal statements. Brief History 2008 — Promotional Web Site launched 2008 — Accepting donations online through CanadaHelps.org 2008 — Established temporary physical location with 1 part-time Coordinator 2007 — TFRC acquires non-profit Corporation status 2005–present — Programs offered to meet community needs, such as Family Literacy Day, Prenatal course, and Mother Goose early childhood program 2004 — Family Resource Centre Steering Committee formed 2000 — Renaissance Sackville establishes Quality of Life Committee
