Adventure and Empowerment for People With Disabilities

Overview:

Live It! Love It! Foundation is a not for profit organization with a mission to promote adaptive adventure and provide outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.

We want to inspire and empower both the disabled and able-bodied communities to work together to make the impossible possible, challenge themselves and believe in their potential

Why?

“3% of Canadians with a disability are involved in organized sport, compared to 31% of able bodied Canadians.” - 2009 Active Healthy Kids Report, Active Healthy Kids Canada

Life with disability is difficult, costly and overwhelming. Participating in sport, recreation and outdoor activity after a life altering injury is often too expensive, difficult and overwhelming to be a priority.

How Does Live It! Love It! Make A Difference?

By empowering individuals to regain confidence in their ability to live their life to the fullest after a disabling injury or illness.

By facilitating camps that provide adventure and outdoor recreation experience, a connection with peers, opportunities to accomplish goals and a new perspective on inner growth and healing.

By encouraging inclusion and expanding the boundaries of what is perceived as possible for people with disabilities, fun, adventure, friendship and the healing properties of outdoors and wilderness experience.

By supporting local adaptive sports initiatives and helping individuals access the equipment, support and finances they need to engage in sport and adventure.

By engaging communities and providing opportunity to volunteer, contribute, and engage in Live It! Love It! activities.

By inspiring the broader community to release the adventurers, athlete, volunteer, friend and supporter within them and realize the potential of their lives.

Support from voters and the Aviva Community Fund will fund outdoor recreation and adventure opportunities for individuals, support adaptive sport programs, provide equipment, instruction, support, fulfill unique adventure dreams and fund camps for individuals with disabilities in various environments and locations.
