Idea Created: October 3, 2011
Overview:
PEACE School is here to re-enchant education, with an Arts based curriculum that guides children to their highest potentials, through the provision of tools that ignite, unfold and augment their innate gifts and talents. PEACE students receive meaningful education, sparked by wonder, learning core subjects through an inquiry based and experiential integration of creativity and the Arts. The ultimate vision is to nurture the essence of each child, so they blossom into creative, joyful, highly evolved citizens, while on the path to discover who and what they really are.
A key attribute of the PEACE holistic education system of Arts and academic integration is the involvement of all stakeholders in curriculum planning and delivery. We strive to promote students to achieve their highest academic potential at a pace and timing that best supports their personal learning style. Teachers inspire motivate and guide students, presenting programs in an array of learning styles that enable student's the choice of expression of their understanding, with assessment based solely on the individual’s potential development.
In the early stages, the school may be accessed through a virtual online communication portal that engages current technology tools. It is intended that the first school location be in Northern Ontario, and that the major program framework for all other sites be developed at that location.
The vision of a Virtual PEACE School is to empower all learners, through the use of tools and current technology to experience scholastic success. Our teachers are highly experienced in both academics and the Arts, providing stimulating options to engage learners in a world of discovery in communication and collaboration with classrooms around the globe.
In Phase I, PEACE virtual classroom is to be broadcast from a state of the art studio, set up for livestream broadcasting of the PEACE programs utilizing the world’s largest education platform of Skype and Sclipo. The studio is stocked with cameras, computers, SmartBoards, projector, as well as resources and tools for all Art forms including music, drama, dance, fine and culinary Arts.
Funding from Aviva will be used to develop the virtual school, purchase land and initiate the first PEACE classroom.
