Overview:
Miller Park Scout Reserve Abilities Trail
_Remember the mosquitoes, the dirt, and the marshmallows? They will too._ First time adventures start with Scouts where the outdoors is the classroom and the fun just comes naturally! Our adventure packed hands on programs help Youth grow into great citizens, strong leaders and happy people.
One of the most memorable experiences for many Youth and adults is the time spent in natural setting singing songs around a campfire.
This experience is often beyond the reach of those with special needs due to mobility issues. The abilities trail, once established, will expand the usage of the Miller Park Scout Reserve by providing quality accessible trails and facilities.
This major undertaking is part of a 15 year strategic plan to expand usage of the Reserve and add new dimensions for the use of this 300 acre facility which sits just twenty minutes from a major urban area.
It will also enable the development of a more inclusive strategy for our present camping programs and help to develop new ones which are accessible to all.
