    Large ($100K - 150K)

Overview:

World Camp Mission:
  • To teach people the reality about poverty around the world and close to home.
  • To give people a hands on experience that will change their perspective on poverty and the impact it has.
  • To help participants create change in their local communities.

World Camp will be the first of it's kind in Canada.  A hands-on experience that will have participants live in various structures from around the world (a Mozambique hut, a Thailand stilt hut, a shanty town hut, etc.)  Overnight participants will live with the few supplies that these people would actually have and learn how to survive for just one meal & one night.

World Camp will guide participants in understanding how the choices they make in their own lives have far reaching implications for those around the world.  Everyone who attends the program will leave with the knowledge that they can create change and help be part of the solution to poverty as we know it.

There is no program like this in Canada.  This grant would see World Camp structures built, funding for the expansion of our small pilot program which ran this past summer.
