POOL YOUR PENNIES- WHITEWOOD WATERPARK
September 24, 2012
Overview:When it was announced that the penny was no longer going to be issued I asked my grandmother " what would happen to all those pennies"
The response was "someone will find a way to collect and make use of them".
"Maybe we could collect enough for a waterpark" I asked.
" We'll have to see how much it will cost"
My name is Tia Cederstrand is eleven years of age and in Grade 7.
This is myidea of why Whitewood needed a waterpark.
Whitewood needs a place where little children that are too small to go in the big pool to enjoy the hot day. This would be great for parents ,grandparents and babysitters who have more than one child in their care to be able to take them to a waterpark (which would beside the pool).People with disabilities would have the opportunity to enjoy a waterpark. It would an ideal place for family and friends to gather for an outing.Visitors will use it when they come to Whitewood.
Jars are set out at all businesses and collected weekly and deposited in an account under the name of Pool Your Pennies" Town of Whitewood . The cost of this project is $130,000.00. To date $8,000.00 has been raised through donations and the jars.
