Overview:

Ignace is in beautiful Northwestern Ontario, a community that is on Hwy 17(the Trans Canada highway). This remote community strives to attend to youth issues such as physical abuse, mental abuse, and addictions through preventative education in conjunction with our community partners. Programming is funded through grants; however the Healthy Community Program Free to Play will end this March. This program has partnered with Ignace organizations, facilitated and funded many of the youth programs in Ignace. We hope to see a future for the youth in Ignace that uses education to promote healthy living. The project that we envision will consist of programs for youth ages 12-17; through educational & physical activities such as, mindfulness training, emotional intelligence, assertiveness training, alcohol and drug awareness, healthy choices in food, relationships, school, & body and mind, as well as physical activities to promote healthy lasting behaviors.
