Selecting Winners
Once Canadians vote for the semi-finalists, our judges rank the top 30 based on specific criteria.
How winners are selected:
1. Ideas will be scored
The judges will determine a score for each of the 30 finalist ideas using a specific set of weighted criteria including those listed below. Each of the finalists will be evaluated and scored against these criteria.
2. Scored ideas will be ranked
Each finalist will be ranked from 1 - 30 based on its score, and grouped by Small, Medium, and Large Ideas based on how much we believe they will cost to implement.
3. Top ideas will be funded
The Aviva Community Fund will fund one idea from each group (Small, Medium, Large), starting with the highest ranked ideas. We will keep funding ideas until the entire Aviva Community Fund of $1,000,000 has been allocated.
4. The Brokerage Prize
The Broker prize will be given to one Broker-supported idea of any size. Up to $150,000 will be reserved for the “Broker Prize.
